Volker Sorge has a passion for developing pragmatic solutions to hard accessibility problems. For many years Volker has worked on STEM accessibility, concentrating on accessible mathematics, scientific diagrams and data visualisations. He has contributed to several open source projects in this area and is still an active member of the MathJax team. Volker has worked as an accessiblity consultant for over ten years with industrial partners, he has worked as an invited scientist at Google as well as founded his own startup in 2015. Volker has studied Mathematics, Computer Science and Philosophy at the University of Würzburg, University of Texas at Austin, and University Saarbrücken. He holds a Research Masters in Mathematics and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (Computational Logic). Volker still holds a chair as Professor of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham, UK and and Adjunct Faculty position at IIT Delhi.
